De Wijde Blik Mariegold 6a, the first Intermediate Champion!
Last Saturday, the first National Red & White Show took place in the Netherlands. Several GenHotel members participated in the event to compete for titles. De Wijde Blik Mariegold 6a had a great day and made history by becoming the very first Intermediate Champion at the National Red & White Show (Nationale Roodbont Show)!
Amidst the cheers of many visitors, the second calver De Wijde Blik Mariegold 6a, owned by the Nijman familie (De Wijde Blik Holsteins), was declared champion of the Intermediate Class. Prior to that, the dairy cow, which calved in March, won the youngest intermediate class and was honored with the best udder of her class. Mariegold 6a is sired by American sire Kenmore Triple Crown-Red and classified VG-88 as a 2-yr-old. She also won the Viritual Show of Ommen and Res. Champion 2-yr-old Ommer Bissing 2023 in her first lactation.

In the junior category with 2-yr-olds, the prefix 'Batouwe' emerged as the winner. The Coomboona Zipit Mirand-PP RDC daughter, Batouwe Mirand Alnika P Red, won first place and also got the best udder of her class. In the championship, the judges named Alnika P as Junior Champion of the show. Alnika P Red was bought by the Bakker family of Batouwe Holsteins as an embryo and later sold as a young heifer calf during the Schouten Holsteins & Partner Sale. Her third dam is none other than Parile Kite Alicia EX-90 - R&W Grand Champion Royal 2007 & All-Canadian R&W Senior 3 Year 2007.

The "Best Red & Best Udder" of the Wintershow Beilen 2024, NRP Awesome Amberlee Red EX-90, was once again in good condition to compete. Shown by her owner, Norwin Piet of NRP Holsteins, in the national show ring, the fourth lactation Luck-E Awesome-Red, achieved a well-deserved 2nd place in the senior class. With this achievement Amberlee Red EX-90 honors her ancestors of the strong breeding Kamps-Hollow Durham Altitude RDC EX-95 cow family.
