Holbra Sonya 2 wins regional senior championship!

Last weekend, the Fokveeshow Lochem took place where Holbra Holsteins had a fantastic day, winning the Holstein Senior Championship. In a highly competitive section for older dairy cows, Holbra Sonya 2 EX-90, a Claynook Casper daughter, triumphed and was recognized by the jury as having the best udder in her category.

This show star, who already boasts several regional successes, added the title of Senior Champion to her impressive list of achievements. Holbra Sonya 2 EX-90 is a fourth-calver belonging to the Holbra Sana VG-89 line, which is part of the renowned Prudence family.

In the category for the oldest Holstein cows, Holbra Malon 16, a fresh De-Su 13494 Hartley daughter, secured 2nd place. This VG-89 dam of Holbra Sané @KI Samen descends from a strong lineage that includes VG-88 Board VG-88 Balisto x VG-87 Man-O-Man, tracing back to the well-known brood cow Holbra Pam VG-87. Holbra Pam has set the foundation of this strong breeding cow family, along with her sisters Holbra Patty and Holbra Petra EX-90.

The Holmer family took home even more trophies. Within the red and white competition, Holbra Halo Red P VG-87, sired by Augustus P Red, contributed to their successful day. This robust and well-uddered first calver performed well, earning a 2nd place ribbon and being named Reserve Red Holstein 2-yr-old Champion.

Another notable red cow from the Holbra Holsteins herd is Holbra A-L-H Rebecca Red, a fourth calver VG-88 Spark Red daughter. She is the granddaughter of the former #1 gTPI and #1 gLPI RDC cow, Calbrett Supersire Barb RDC. Remarkably, just three generations back, she descends from Rainyridge Talent Barbara RDC EX-95. Rebecca Red secured a second-place in her category.
