Holbra Halo Red P wins Res. Champion Videokeuring Sivolde

At this year’s Videokeuring by VVB Silvolde, the jury and photo crew traveled through the east of the Netherlands to check out a several (Red) Holstein first milking competing for the win. Among the heifers were several daughters of bulls bred by GenHotel and its members. This year, a red standout from the Holmer family was awarded, a K&L Drouner Augustus P Red daughter 10 months in production.

Seven 2-yr-olds competed in the red and white category, with four sired by Augustus P Red (2x), Poppe Kayne, and Drouner Effektiv. The robust and well-built Holbra Halo Red P impressed the jury and was named Reserve Champion Red & White. This Augustus P Red daughter calved at just 1.10 years and was soon classified as VG-87with VG-88 for Udder. From her natural mating with the sire of sons Redlea RC, she produced a daughter, Holbra Halo 1 P RDC, who boasts a gTPI of 2849 at the age of 10 months. This lineage traces back to the high-index breeding Cookiecutter MOM Halo VG-88 cow family.
