First 'grande' title for Drouner Cosmo 1836 VG-89

It’s been over a week since the Albring family enjoyed their big win at the season’s first show. The Drouner Holsteins herd picked up several awards, but the highlight was Cosmo 1836, an Alligator daughter, who snagged her first Grand Championship as a 3,8 yr-old, accomplished by Marieke Albring.

The evening began on a high note with Drouner Mientje 2008, a daughter of Claynook Barolo, taking first place. She was followed by her stablemate, Drouner Aiko 2010 Red, who secured the second position. Aiko 2010 Red, sired by 3STAR OH Ranger Red, descends from the prestigious national show cow Drouner AJDH Aiko 1267 P-Red EX-90. In the finals, the best 2-yr-olds from the three caegories competed for titles, and the young Barolo daughter from the Albring family received an Honorable Mention. Her dam is the EX-92 classified King Doc daughter, Drouner Mientje 1619. Additionally, the red-and-white Drouner Aiko 2010 Red competed for the title of 'Junior Best Red' and also won an Honorable Mention.

In the intermediate class, three categories were judged, featuring second and third calf cows. Drouner Cosmo 1836 VG-89 was present and succeeded in extending her title as Junior & Udder Champion at the FDV Wintershow last year. She took the first step towards a new title by winning her class and receiving the award for best udder. In the finals, she competed against her herd mate Drouner Anna 1709 RDC, who is sired by Crown Red.

Amidst rising tension, Drouner Cosmo 1836 VG-89 was declared Intermediate Champion and received the titel for best udder. The champions among the older cows couldn't match the success of the dairy-like Alligator daughter. By the end of the evening, the Albring family joyfully celebrated the first Grand Championship of Drouner Cosmo 1836 VG-89!

In the competition of the best herd groups, five farms entered the ring to compete. Here too, there was great success for a trio from the Drouner Holsteins farm, who had the best herds groep of this show.
