Zwanebloem Bourbon Ruslana VG-86, 3rd dam of Zwanebloem Sheepster Ruth
The American genomic results for the month of July were published this week by the Holstein Association USA. This has resulted in nice, newly tested additions to their herd for several GenHotel members.
At Koepon Genetics, Koepon Samson Range 357, a Peak AltaSamson out of Koepon Gameday Range 138, is now one of the genomic toppers. With 3142 gTPI and 1188 NM, she is the number 2 AltaSamson daughter in Europe for both TPI and NM$, partly due to her favourable scores for longevity and udder health (+6.6 PL & 2.53 SCS).
Zwanebloem Holsteins, from the Masscheleyn family in De Panne, Belgium, has 2 females in the top 50 gTPI in Europe this month. The highest is Zwanebloem Sheepster Ruth (Sheepster x Taos), who is one of the top 15 OCD Trooper Sheepsters in Europe with 3130 gTPI. Through many generations of productive dams, Ruth traces back to the well-known brood cow Whittier-Farms Lead Mae EX-95. Ruth's herdmate Zwanebloem Holy Britt 3283 (3086 gTPI) also has a high production proof and also scores +2.23 PTAT with +2.20 UDC. This Cookiecutter Holysmokes is a far descendant of Rainyridge Talent Barbara RDC EX-95, Holstein Canada Cow of the Year 2013.
The highest European red factor female of the July run is Oosterbrook Redlea Evalyn RDC, with 3088 gTPI one of the highest red factor STGen Rc Redlea RDC daughters in Europe, owned by Leon Heijink, The Netherlands. Her dam Oosterbrook Chandler Evalyn is fresh for 2 months, produces 40 kgs/day and is also one of the highest daughters of her sire, Denovo 16241 Chandler. Next dam JK Eder Medley Evalyn 1 EX-90 (by ABS Medley) is the Grand Champion Fokveedag Oldebroek 2022.
KNS 86155 (Space x Timberlake), owned by the Niermann family in Germany, is also in the top 50 gTPI in Europe this month, with 3077 gTPI and 1100 NM. Her dam DHG Norwegen was the sale topper at the Sunrise Sale 25 with € 27,500 and produced an average of more than 50 kg/day as a milking heifer in the first 200 days. Her dam DHG Nairobi EX-90 (by Mr Rubicon Dynamo) is the 17th generation VG or Excellent in a row!
Wilder Sipie Red of the Holtkamp family, Vreden, is the highest, newly tested red-and-white female this month with 3047 gTPI. Sipie Red is, just like Evalyn, a Redlea daughter and her dam is Wilder Song Red, a 3STAR OH Ranger-Red out of Wilder Sophie Red VG-87, a Trent-Way-Js Ronald RDC from the Apina Massia family.
