GenHotel members deliver cows with 100 tons of milk
Koepon Iota Classy 98 VG-86
In the Netherlands, the number of cows producing over 100,000 kgs of milk is increasing every day. Cows from herds owned by various GenHotel members are contributing to this success, highlighting their breeding power, passion for the profession, and management qualities.
One of the recent top lifetime producers comes from the herd of the Moonen family, who celebrated their first 100 tonnes of milk cow earlier this year. The second cow which passed the 100,000 kgsM mark, Pietje 631, is an 11-year-old Camion Van De Peul daughter. Pietje 631, with a VG-85 score, achieved a production of 100,023 kgs of milk in 3098 days with 4.55% fat and 3.57% protein.
New Moore Holsteins, owned by the Prent-Withaar family also celebrated their 19th cow producing over 100 tons of milk. New Moore Mina 4162, an 11-year-old daughter of the French bull Boheme Sho (Shottle x Jesther), achieved a production of 101,206 kgs of milk with 3.58% fat and 3.19% protein in 2,960 days.
At Koepon, there was also cake to celebrate the achievement of two cows. During the last milk recording, the 49th and 50th cow achieved significant milestones. The Regan-Joy Durham Regenia EX-92 family has become one of the most valued cow families in this herd, with the potential to produce 100,000 kgsM cows. One of the highlights is Koepon Oak Regenia 141, an almost 11-year-old cow (AltaOak x Man-O-Man VG-86) which has become the 10th cow at Koepon to produce over 100,000 kgsM. She achieved this feat in 2,781 days, with a production of 100,299 kgsM, 3.71% fat, and 3.15% protein. The 50th cow to reach this production milestone is Koepon Book Classy 205 VG-86, sired by Bookem. She is currently in her 6th lactation and produced a lifetime total of 100,506 kgsM in just 2,483 days, with 4.43% fat and 3.39% protein. Her dam, Koepon Iota Classy 98 VG-86, has been a key-cow for Koepon, producing more than 20 offspring.
