Stunning new number 1 gNVI Holstein female!

A remarkable new number 1 gNVI Holstein female has been born! Bouw Champion Hedy has achieved an outstanding score of 498 gNVI, 675 INET, and 1106 LVD, pushing the boundaries in the Holstein breed. With these impressive genomics results, Hedy has claimed the top spot for gNVI B&W, leaving the second-place holder far behind with almost a 50-point difference.

The 2019 Breeder of the Year, Jan Bouw, has achieved gold with Bouw Champion Hedy. Following the success of breeding a few top 10 gNVI charging Red Holsteins in the past year, a new number 1 Holstein from this herd has now made its mark as well. Hedy is an early daughter of the German-bred genomic sire RUW Champion (Clapton x Freemax), with impressive figures of 156 gRZG and 272 gNVI, making him a sought-after sire of sons in Europe.

On the maternal side, Hedy's dam, WW Hazel, boasts figures of 304 gNVI, 151 gRZG, and 2811 gTPI. Hazel, sired by Sunrise, is acquired by Bouw through the OHG's Top Genetik Sale in 2023. The dam of Hedy has already produced 28 embryos for 7 different customers, with Hazel's full brother WW Surfer also at OHG boasting 157 gRZG. The lineage of Anderstrup Snowman Heaven VG-87 leads back to the foundation cow Darlawn Marshell Heaven-ET VG-86.
