STGen Cowen Thorson, highest debutant at 3rd spot
In America, the April 2025 breeding values for bulls have been published, with the 5-year base adjustment being implemented again and both the TPI and Net Merit formulas have been adjusted.

Despite the adjustments, the top 10 of the TPI ranking again includes many familiar names, but also some new bulls manage to reach the top.
Proven bulls
Just like in December, places 1 and 2 are occupied, with 3441 and 3418 TPI respectively, by Genosource Captain (Charl x Sabre) and SDG Cap Garza (Captain x Josuper), who has made his debut in December. STGen Cowen Thorson (Cowen x Charl), is the highest debutant among the breeding bulls in April and starts in 3rd place with 3389 TPI. Terra-Calroy Zuri (AltaZazzle x Tahiti) by CRV also has a proof for the first time, based on 308 milking daughters: 3348 TPI (& +1.37 PTAT) and directly in 4th place. Plain-Knoll Renegade Trooper, S-S-I Eisaku Payload and RMD-Dotterer SSI Gameday are all maintaining themselves in the top 10 TPI daughterproven bulls. The highest polled bull (with 3156 TPI) is now FB 8084 Adebayo P (Monument P x Resolve), a descendant of Unique-Style Bolton Money EX-93. In the top 100 TPI, STGen Dubai On-Duty (Dubai x Fabulous) is the highest type bull, scoring +1.92 PTAT & +2.29 UDC with 3286 TPI (7th place). The base change for conformation is approximately -0.6 point PTAT.
Young bulls
Among the bulls of one year and older (with NAAB code), OCD Thorson Ripcord (3537 gTPI) is back in the lead, after he had to settle for place 2 in December. His three-quarter brother OCD Thorson Darth Vader (Thorson x Captain) also scores above 3500 gTPI. The number 3 is still the Canadian young bull Progenesis Watchman (Sheepster x Gameday), who scores 3499 gTPI and has his roots at the American breeding farm Welcome Holsteins, New York.
The highest polled bull with NAAB code is Genosource King P (also Thorson x Captain), who scores 3409 gTPI. Denovo 20256 Rosco P, a Winstar Maxwell P from the Snow-N-Denises Dellia EX-95 family, now occupies place 2 with 3355 gTPI. He is followed by December's number 2, Winstar Margin P (Maxwell P x Gameday), who reaches 3345 gTPI and traces back to the well-known brood cow Seagull-Bay O-Man Mirror VG-86.
