4-2025 gNVI Rankings: New red leaders emerge

The first proof run of 2025 brings some new leaders for gNVI, with notable entries among both Red and Holstein bulls. Bulls that successfully made their way onto these lists as young genomics bulls continue to rise to the top based on the performance of their daughters. As a result, the current top 10 list for red and white daughter proven bulls is predominantly filled with bulls bred by GenHotel members.

Proven sires
In August 2024, Genosource Captain set his mark in the Nethlernads/Flanders as the number one daughter proven sire. With another increase in his index, the Charl son solidified his leading position with 327 NVI/704 INET. So far, no other proven bull has managed to achieve this level of success. In second place, we find Wet Acura Maximus with 309 NVI (+26). He has risen four places in the ranking since December. Delta Reloader (Finder x G-Force) holds third place with 296 NVI, based on data from 477 milking daughters. The number one bull from Germany, KAX Gladius (293 NVI), impressively ranks fourth in the Netherlands/Flanders.

Following the April index run, the Red Holstein sires bred by GenHotel and its partners and members have once again demonstrated their excellence. Notably, the influence of the Red Range/Prudence cow family has significantly increased. The new number one, Poppe Kayne Red (number 2 in 10-2024), boasts 294 NVI (+37) which is based on 285 milking daughters. This Jacuzzi-Red son from the Poppe Holsteins herd made a strong debut in August 2024 alongside Poppe Freestyle-Red (Gywer RDC x Born P), who also joined the top ranks. Freestyle-Red is sitting in sixth place with 254 NVI. The internationally recognized top bull, 3STAR OH Ranger Red, who held the number one position in December, has dropped to third place, despite a +12 increase in his 293 NVI. He still maintains the status of the highest longevity sire, with +1,039 days. His full brother, Koepon OH Ryder Red (252 NVI), is in seventh place.

A newcomer in the top 10 rankings is Sudena Rotary Red, a maternal-brother to Ranger Red and Ryder Red's dam, Red Range VG-86. Rotary Red, a Swingman Red son, was exported as a young bull by GenHotel to Eastern Europe and later became available in the Netherlands through the importer AI Total. With his first 54 daughters and a gNVI of 278, he ranks as the highest newcomer, taking fourth place! The influence of Red Range is also evident in the 10th position, occupied by Koepon AltaCostanzo-Red, an AltaTop-Red son. Although he previously had an Interbull proof run, he is now included on the national list following an index of 247 NVI due to his first 28 milking daughters. This positions him as the third son from the influential and well-known brood cow of the Koepon herd.

Drouner K&L Augustus P Red (Solitair P x Silky-Red) was long one of the most popular polled bulls worldwide, receiving significant usage in countries like Switzerland, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom. While his appeal in the Netherlands was somewhat slower to grow, his first 142 daughters are now in production. With an index of 250 NVI, Augustus P Red is currently in 8th place and is recognized as the highest-ranked polled & red proven sire.

Drouner Rednex Red no longer leads in terms of conformation value but shares this title with Delta Oneliner-Red and Caudumer Lifesaver-Red. All three bulls have a total confomration score of 111. Among them, the Effort son from Drouner Holsteins has by far the most daughters, exceeding 2,000 (an increase of 400 since December). Lifesaver-Red, a bull from the Lol family, is known for his strong breeding performance on udders, achieving a UI of 111, similar to Rednex.
