Batouwe Holsteins breeds to get the best of two worlds!

The Bakker family of Batouwe Holsteins recently welcomed three heifer calves into their herd. With these new additions, the family's herd is set to expand, featuring descendants from the index branch of KHW Goldwyn Aiko RDC and the strong show winning family of Bons-Holsteins Ella.

One of the calves is Batouwe Mask Aimy Red, a two-month-old direct daughter of R&B Freestyle Aimey Red, sired by Red Rocks Mask Red. Aimey Red, who calved at 2.03 years old, is known for producing high-quality offspring. Aimy Red has already generated one of the highest Rammstein daughters for NVI, TPI, and RZG. This daughter, Rh Ramm Aimy Red, was sold to Spain during the GenHotel Selection Sale in March. Aimy Red's pedigree can be traced back to bull dam Batouwe Salsa Aiko Red VG-85 through her fresh Freestyle Red dam and granddam R&B Sw Aimy Red VG-85 (by Swingman). Aimy Red boasts an impressive RZG result of 123 gRZE, high genomics for health, and +0.22% fat and +0.10% protein. The Bakker family is currently awaiting her NVI results.

The two other Holstein and Red Holstein calves are daughters of the Canadian conformation sire Blondin Luxor-Red. Batouwe Holsteins purchased these as embryos. The dam of these calves is Ritmaster Ellen RDC, a red carrier Lindenright Moovin RDC daughter. As a calf, Ellen RDC was sold by Ritmaster Holsteins to GenHotel during the GenHotel Selection Sale. About 15 embryos from Ellen were sold through the 3STAR Embryo Program, including three from the combination with Luxor-Red. Two heifer calves were born from these pregnancies, one of which is red. The great granddam of these two calves is Bons-Holsteins Ella 192 EX-93, the Grand Champion of the NRM Show 2019.
