Preview NRM – B&W
Only one more week untill the 15th edition of the Dutch National Show (NRM). Several GenHotel Members are preparing cows for the show. Drouner Holsteins (4) and Giessen Holsteins (5) are among the biggest exhibitors in the R&W show and other GenHotel members such as Barendonk Holsteins (1), Capnation Holsteins (1), De Rith Holsteins (1), De Wijde Blik (1), Holbra Holsteins (1), Stouwdamshof Holsteins (2), Veenhuizer Holsteins (2) and Willem's Hoeve Holsteins (2) will enter the ring with B&W cows.
B&W – Senior
The biggest exhibitor for B&W is Bons Holsteins with 9 cows selected. Reigning Grand Champion Bons-Holsteins Koba 191 will not defend her title. But Bons Holsteins has another favorite for the title. Mailing daughter Bons-Holsteins Ella 158 EX-94 will enter the ring as the oldest cow of the show. To claim the title she has to defeat another old champion. Jimm. Holstein Hellen 589 EX-94, the Grand Champion of 2012, will join the party. The Shottle daughter is one of the 6 cows that are exhibired by John de Vries during his rentree in the showring. Also the dam to Hellen 589, Goldwyn daughter Jimm. Holstein Hellen 585 EX-93, is selected. Her lifetime total is already up to 110.000 kg of milk.
Salient detal: 10 out of the 11 cows that enter this class (class 10) are classified Excellent. On average these 10 are almost classified 92 points.
The first class (class 9) with senior will be “heavy” as well. Entering the ring in this class are among others Geertje 567, de Grand Champion from the show in Hoornaar, Veenhuizer Gold One, the Intermediate Champion HHH-Show 2015, Giessen Charity 59, the Grand Champion from the Rundvee Show Noord in Beilen 2016, Bons-Holsteins Ella 186, a Laurin daughter of the earlier mentioned Ella 158 and the Reserve Senior Champion from the HHH-Show 2016, and Drouner Ria 1038, the Reserve Senior Champion from the HHH-Show 2015.
B&W – Intermediate
It is really rough to mention the favourite for Intermediate Championship. First of all because the cows in this section could have improved massive in comparison to their first lactation, and second because this is the biggest section of the NRM with 70 cows competing in 5 classes. We can announce that Bons-Holsteins Aaltje 114, the Champion of the HHH-Show 2016, and Willem's Hoeve Rita 9863, the Reserve Champion of the HHH-Show 2016 and the Grand Champion from the Avondbloesemshow 2016, and Drouner AJDH Cosmo, the Junior Champion from the HHH-Show 2015, are among the contenders.
But maybe you have seen another favourite for the title at on of the local shows. This “inside” information can you use to predict the classes in the GenHotel NRM Judging Competition.
B&W – Junior
Thé favourite for the Junior title is with no doubt Bons-Holsteins Koba 219. She placed first in her class at the All-European Championchip in Colmar last year and was named Junior Champion at the HHH-Show 2016 and the Fokveeshow Noordeloos 2017. Other 2-yr olds will definitely try to beat her. Among them several cows form GenHotel members, for example: Drouner Asra 1295, Willem’s Hoeve 1263 and Giessen Charity 111. And maybe among one of the younger 2-yr Olds there is a cow that will give Koba 219 a run for her money.
