Preview NRM – R&W
Only one more week until the 15th edition of the Dutch National Show (NRM). Several GenHotel Members are preparing cows for the show. Barendonk Holsteins is the biggest exhibitor of the R&W show with 6 selected cows. Drouner Holsteins, Huntje Holstein and Werler Holsteins also have R&W cows that will enter the ring.
R&W – Senior
Among the selected cows of Barendonk Holsteins is Barendonk Brasilera 12, the EX-93 classified Classic daughter will try to defend her title of 2014. In her section, the eldest class with R&W cows (class 16), she will meet another EX-93 classified cow; Plattery Princesse. This Ralstorm daughter is owned by Mts. Eggerink and she is the Senior Champion of the HHH-Show 2015.
Bons-Holsteins Aaltje 94, the Reserve Champion of the HHH-Show 2016, will probably also join the battle in this class and also keep an eye out for Gasthuis Konvoy Suzanne. Suzanne is the Senior Champion from the CRV-Koe Expo 2015 and earlier this year she was named Grand Champion at the Dairy Fair Mariënwaerdt.
JU Lonia 167 will enter the ring in the first class with senior cows (class 15). She is the Honourable Mention of the HHH-Show. She has to compete with Jotan daughter Barendonk Emma 220. This class has several cows that might be able to win the class.
Salient detail: 13 out of the 14 cows that will enter the ring in this class are classified Excellent. These 13 average exact 91 points.
R&W – Intermediate
It looks like the Intermediate section will have a two interesting classes with several cows that could claim the Championship. The title favourite is probably M.H. Alana 5 (Amor Red), the Grand Champion from the HHH-Show 2015, but let's not forget Brook Marie 68. Marie 68 is the Junior Champion from the HHH-Show 2015. In the Intermediate section we have to wait and see how some of last year’s 2-yr olds have developed. Maybe you have seen an potential champion at one of the local show. Use this “inside” information to predict your classwinners and Grand Champion in the GenHotel NRM Judging Competition.
R&W – Junior
All eyes in the Junior 2-yr olds classes will be focused on the champions of the HHH-Show. The Champion, Jantien 12 from the Reilink-Boomkamp family of Markelo, and the Reserve Champion, Barendonk Paulina 188 Red from Barendonk Holsteins, will meet each other in class 12 (second class with 2-yr olds). In this class they will have to deal with Drouner AJDH Aiko 1288 Red owned by Drouner Holsteins and Julia 409 P Red from Werler Holsteins. Maybe one these outsiders will turn in to a title favourite during the show.
Huntje Holstein Anemoon 147, the first placed heifer in the youngest class with 2-yr olds at the HHH-Show and the Junior Champion from the Wintershow Lochem, is also selected for the NRM. Another heifer to watch out for is Heerenbrink Truus 4. She is the only 2-yr old that is classified VG-89 this year and the Champion from the Wintershow Zwolle.
