During the April run in the USA the CDCB has adjusted the calculation of the daughter fertility evaluation. The reason for this adjustment is a larger-than-expected variation in CDCB fertility traits in April last year. CDCB and AGIL staff investigated this result and discovered that the exceptionally large fluctuation was associated to the way year-groups were accounted for in the evaluation model. The yearly grouping strategy was revised, however a larger than expected decrease in the average PTA for fertility traits reoccurred in the April 2019 results. CDCB and AGIL are committed to find what causes these seasonal trends for fertility traits. Investigation is underway and has yielded probable solutions that will be tested.

Proven sires
Mr Mccut Dante 1407 is with 2825 TPI the new rank leader of the proven sires list in the USA. He is a McCutchen son out of Ms Ocd Robust Delicious VG-87, also the dam of the number 4 TPI Mr Mogul Delta. Dante knocks off the throne EDG Rubicon, now sitting on 3rd position. At 2nd position is ABS Rowdy, an early Josuper son with 1040 NM$ out of the No-Fla breeding.

A lot of attention was of course also for the 2 former genomic toppers S-S-I Montross Jedi and Bacon-Hill Modesty. Jedi ranks 40th now, with over 4000 milking daughters, at 2577 TPI, while Modesty just dropped out of the top 100 TPI (2529 TPI and 1412 daughters).

Young sires
The list with high genomic young sires in the USA is lead by Genosource Captain, a Charl x Sabre. Also Fly-Higher Moonshiner has broken the 3000 gTPI barrier and is a De-Su Frazzled son out of the Eastside Lewisdale Gold Missy EX-95 family. Pine-Tree Heroic, an ABS Achiever from the Cookiecutter Mom Halo VG-88 family, scores 2963 gTPI and is already one year old, so will be used as mating sire the next period frequently.
