Mascol daughter Plataan Frida 1 VG-89 from Plataan Holsteins is one of the best Dutch broodcows of the past few years. She has over 50 daughters and a lot of them, and granddaughters as well, have received high type scores. We have mentioned this several times already on GenHotel…

Classification

… and we keep doing this. Herd classification at the farm of the Boom-de Baat family, where some of the cows from the Frida family are housed, resulted once more in high classified cows and 2-yr olds from this family. The most “striking” cow in this herd is with no doubt Plataan F8595, a Headliner daughter of Plataan Frida 7467 VG-89 (Cricket x Plataan Frida 1). F8595 is classified VG-87 and is producing 32% above herd average. Her full sister, Plataan F8594, is classified GP-84 and produces 24% above herd average.
Another eye catching granddaughter of Frida 1 is her namesake Plataan Frida 1. This Afran Ger daughter goes through a Butembo back at Frida 1 and is classified VG-86 (26% above herd average). Two Malando sisters out of Frida 1 are classified VG-85 and are producing 10% and 23% above herd average.

Lifetime production

Back to broodcow Plataan Frida 1. She is still present in the herd of Plataan Holsteins and has a lifetime production of 74.216 kg of milk with 4.24% fat and 3.72% protein. The Frida’s mature into great cows and keep getting better and better. Frida 1 for example, is now almost 10 years old and she is making her best record so far. In her current 5th lactation she is projected at 12.787 kg of milk with 4.08% fat and 3.42% protein!
