Batouwe 3x Champion at Hoornaar show
107th Dairy Show Hoornaar
At the 107th Dairy Show in Hoornaar, The Netherlands, Batouwe Holsteins, owned by Pieterjan Bakker in Dodewaard, became Junior Champion Red Holstein for the 3th consecutive year. This year Batouwe Ks Lilly Red Pp was first in the junior Red Holstein class. Lilly Red Pp is a well balanced and homozygous polled Kansas P daughter out of the Lylehaven Durham Lila Z EX-94 family with a fantastic udder, for which she received Best Udder of her class. In the champions final Junior Red Holstein Lilly was able to beat the competition, even the 2nd lactation cows, and was honored as Junior Champion Red Holstein and Best Udder Junior Red. With this title Batouwe Holsteins scores a hattrick, since the last 2 years the were able to seize the Junior Red Holstein title. In addition Rens Bakker was third at the Showmanship Young Showmen.
Also VanHolland Holsteins, of GenHotel member Corné & Liesbeth van Holland, had 2 fantastic cows at the show, including the very fancy and beautiful uddered VanHolland Roosje 107, a second lactation Mogul daughter ending up first in the second intermediate Holstein class. VanHolland Anke 135, a third lactation, stylish Atwood daughter, was easy winner in her class and exhibited a fantastic uddered combined with a correct rump.
This year Hoornaar was the stage for the National Judging Contest. The cows for this prestigious judging competition have been made available by GenHotel member Hedra Holsteins of the Vernooy family in Schalkwijk.
