August 2022 bull proofs Germany
This morning we were able to welcome the new German breeding values of August 2022. At both the top of the daughter proven and the young genomics bulls, debutants provide a change of guard.
Young bulls
In the list of the black-and-white young genomics bulls, we can introduce a new number one. It is the debuting Arrozo son Arizona with 168 gRZG. Where in April we found Precision (Proximo x Swift) with 167 gRZG at number 1, he's now 2nd with 165 gRZG. Precision stays just ahead of the 164 RZG scoring Capitol, a Carenzo from the American Ricecrest Luke Lisa EX-92 cow family. Capitol, like the number 1, is also a new bull in the German breeding values list. Red factor and polled leader is Sega P RDC (by Star P RDC) with a gRZG of 161. He is followed by a maternal brother named Strong P (place 9), a Star P RDC son of Priska, with also 161 gRZG. This bull was bred by HM Holsteins after purchasing the high Progenesis Prosperous Priska during the VOST Select Sale in 2019.
The Red Holstein ranking is filled with bulls bred by GenHotel members: 6 out of the top 10! The new frontrunner is Red Rocks Mask Red with 163 gRZG. The debuting Stamkos RDC son, bred by Red Rocks Holsteins, thus moves Glamour Red (Goliath RDC x Spark Red) with 162 gRZG to the second place. Poppe Holsteins' bred Poppe Flight Red rises two points in his RZG. This popular sire with 160 gRZG is placed 5th. CEH Spotlight Red from CEH Holsteins also increased his score compared to the april proof run. The K&L Sputnik RDC son now scores 161 gRZG.
The number 1 homozygous R&W polled Tirsvad 3STAR Member PP Red (159 gRZG), by K&L Oh Matty P is placed 7th. Member PP Red is bred by Tirsvad Genetics and GenHotel from their investment Amber PP Red (by Caudumer Solitair P). In the top rankings he comes just behind De Sanderij RUW Matrix Red (place 6). Matrix Red was exported to Germany as an embryo. His first index of 159 gRZG puts the Willem's-Hoeve Rita family back on the map! During the last GenHotel Selection Sale, De Sanderij sold his maternal sister Sanderij Rita's Romy P RDC with 155 gRZG (4-2022) to Diepenhoek Holsteins. Also of Dutch origin is 3STAR HWH Globed P Red, bred by HWH Holsteins and GenHotel, the new number 9 with 158 gRZG. The early Global Red x Basic PP RDC is a maternal brother of - also - top genomics sire 3STAR HWH Bambam P @Xenetica Fontao.

Daughter proven
During the presentation of Topstone's progeny group last June, the strength of the Bomaz Topshot son out of DG OH Donna RDC VG-88 was already visible in the show ring. Topstone is now proving him self again in the August proofs. He's the new number 1 daughterproven B&W sire: no less than 157 RZG & 2452 RZ€ based on 161 German daughters in milk. With this he beats the number one of April 2022, Casino (152 RZG). In place 3 & 4 we find respectively Koepon Peak Tosco with 152 RZG and Riethil Holsteins' Riethil Summerlake with also 152 gRZG. The American Penn-England Tarmac 1304A (King Royal x Supershot) is ranked 8th with 150 gRZG based on 88 daughters. Garido, the popular Boldi V Gymnast son, also manages to maintain his position in the top 10 with 149 gRZG.
The R&W frontrunner in Germany remains Aperol P Red. The Schreur Apoll P-Red son shows no less than a 6-point increase in his RZG score. As a result, he now scores 150 gRZG, compared to the 144 RZG in April. New, with sufficient daughters (201) in production now, is also Caudumer Solitair P Red. As a young genomics bull he was often used as a sire of sons and many sons succeeded him in the top. Now Solitair P Red conquers the second position with 149 gRZG (120 MTY & 115 EUT).
Bentehoek Andy-Red (147 gRZG with +0.53%F and +0.17%P) - also bred in the Netherlands - rose 7 points in his index, which lead him again to the 3rd place. The number of milking daughters in Germany of Eloped-Red son Morningview RUW El Toro-Red has almost tripled, but his RZG of 144 remains unchanged. With 134 gRZG, his sire Eloped-Red is ranked 16th. Striking is the top 5 which is filled with 3 polled bulls: Aperol P Red (#1), Solitair P Red (#2) and Standord P Red (#4)!
