April 2022 bull proofs Germany
This morning the German April 2022 indexes were published. New daughter en pedigree information in this index proof run and new incoming bulls resulted in changes in the top 10. The annual base adjustments for RZG are this time -4.0 and -4.7 points for resp. Red Holsteins and Holsteins.
Young bulls
In the B&W top-10 newcomer Precision (Proximo x Swift) with 167 gRZG ranks first, followed by Adaway Rio 2183 son Adwin (162 gRZG). Foreman, who managed to maintain his lead for no less than three proof runs in a row, drops to a third place. K&L Sputnik RDC son Shout RDC takes the lead as a red factor bull with 160 gRZG and thus makes a strong debut as a genomic young sire. The heterozygous polled Caden P, by Calvin, is with 156 gRZG the highest polled bull in this list. With 156 gRZG, Caden P is succeeded by the homozygous Smaug PP (Simon P x Match P). The bull 3STAR Secundus 159 gRZG - bred by VMO Holsteins & GenHotel - went to a 9th place as a result of the base adjustment.
Also in the Red Holstein ranking we find a new number 1, namely Glamour Red. This is a 163 gRZG scoring bull with Goliath RDC as sire. With this, the young K&L Sputnik RDC son Spotlight Red (160 gRZG) - with CEH Holsteins as homebarn - has to let go of his leading position and drops to second place in the ranking. A name we have known for some time is Poppe Flight Red. The young bull bred by Poppe Holsteins also holds on to his third place after the adjustments and scores 158 gRZG. In the red top 10 we find three sons of - frequently used as sire of sons - Koepon AltaTop-Red, namely: no. 7 Astra Red (156 gRZG), no. 8 Atoll Red (156 gRZG) and the no. 9 Addo Red with 155 gRZG from the Snow-N Denises Dellia family.
The gRZ€ ranking at the R&W side is also headed by the same trio as the gRZG list. With a gRZ€ of 2775, Glamour Red is at the top by a wide margin, because the number two - Spotlight Red follows with 2547 gRZ€. The B&W gRZ€ ranking gives a different view than in the gRZG ranking. With 2724 gRZ€ Conway son Coverboy leads. With 158 gRZG, we find Coverboy at place 12 in the gRZG top ranking.

Daughterproven sires
The top-10 R&W brought, after the base adjustment, some changes. Where we saw El Toro Red at No. 1 in December 2021, the Eloped Red son now shares his place with Aperol P Red. Both score 144 RZG and with this score the heterozygous polled Schreur Apoll P Red son is the highest polled bull in this ranking. The homogygous Apo Red PP, also sired by Apoll P Red, is with his RZG of 134 the highest homozygous polled proven sire. Highest newcomer is Andy-Red with 140 gRZG, an Anreli-Red from a red factor VG-85 Bouw Rocky. Although his reliability is not yet sufficient to be published in the official progeny proven list, the real leader is Caudumer Solitair P Red (Salvatore RDC) with 145 gRZG! We eagerly await what the Haytema-family-bred bull will show in August 2022, especially after his successful career as a sire of sons and the many high scoring sons and daughters he has delivered.
Casinos RZG dropped to 155 gRZG partly due to the base adjustment. With this, the DG Charley son retains his number 1 position with 400 daughters more in his calculation than last December. The number two, Semino (154 gRZG), also rises two points, compared to December 2021 and reserves his second place on the ranking. The new number 3 Peak Tosco (152 gRZG) as well as the the number 10 Koepon Beatclub (146 gRZG) come from Koepon Genetics. Tosco is an AltaTopshot from Koepon Ruby-Ann and thus maternal brother of Koepon Charlston and Peak AltaZarek. The number 4, Riethil Summerlake, was in the top 5 during the last proof run. However, the Charley son passes the competition smoothly, because his RZG remains the same and thus builds up his way to the 4th position.
