The phenomenal success of 3STAR OH Ranger Red keeps on reaching new heights!

Now that the first daughters of the former number 1 gLPI Holstein bull worldwide are in production, we can confidently say that this legendary bull has exceeded expectations so far. The impact that this young bull has already had on the worldwide Holstein population is unprecedented!
After his first genomics results came in in 2020, owners De Oosterhof and GenHotel knew that 3STAR OH Ranger-Red is a special bull. He emerged as the number 1 gTPI R&W genomics sire globally. Semex immediately showed interest, purchased the young bull and moved him to their European stud in Hungary. Ranger-Red then maintained his leading position quite some time in multiple genomics systems worldwide and became a globally used sire of sons.
3STAR OH Ranger-Red, at the age of 3 months
Ranger-Red was originally purchased as an embryo by De Oosterhof and GenHotel from the former number 1 gTPI R&W female, Lakeside Ups Red Range. She was sold to Koepon as a heifer calf during the GenHotel Selection Sale by the Van Vliet family (Lakeside & Upstream Holsteins). Recently, Alex Borst from Koepon mentioned that the 350th Red Range offspring was born which underlines the big impact. In addition, Red Range VG-86, in her third lactation, is still easy going in the Koepon herd.
The 5th calf grandmother of this 'high impact' bull is still present. EDG Rubicon daughter De Oosterhof DG Rose RDC VG-89 has been in the hands of the Mensink (Sudena Holsteins) family already for several years. Her direct number of offspring has now reached over 70! Both Dutch breeding cows were recently visited by GenHotel and partner Swissgenetics.

Also within GenHotel's 3STAR Breeding Program, the influence of Ranger-Red increased in no time. Fourteen of his sons, red and red factor, were purchased by various international AIs. Most well-known are possibly 3STAR OH Whisper Red, 3STAR TV Ambo P Red, 3STAR OH Romaner RDC, and 3STAR OH McRanger RDC (all at Semex) and 3STAR OH Promise Red @Masterrind. His highest testing son based on gTPI is currently Progenesis Punch RC with 3010 gTPI at Semex. Ranger-Red was not only used to increase genomics levels, he was also used for conformation programs of AIs as well. These include Jacobs Sabre RC (Ranger Red x Shakira EX-97), Progenesis Ambrose RC (Ranger Red x Lambda Anis VG-89), Siemers Parbo RC (Ranger Red x Lmda Paris 27856 EX-91) and NAF Supertype RC (Ranger Red x CCC Someone).
The first lactating daughters, worldwide, show a lot of width, with straight toplines and correct rumps, nicely intermediate curved legs, great textured udders with good teat placement. During the August index run, we can expect the first daughter proven index of Ranger-Red.
