Regancrest MIlford P, importatnt sire of sons for Polled
The number of sire of sons that breeders and AI's use are bigger and bigger these days. Also sire of sons are not used for a long time, so the lists change quickly. That is why we will put extra info on the sires of sons on GenHotel.
B&W sire of sons
There are many high Balisto sons at the moment. A very popular one is De-Su Battlecry. He has good proofs in Germany, Holland, Italy and Engeland for example. He is the highest available bull on RZG with 168 gRZG. He is an alllround bull with very good proofs for durability, udder health, production and also good for fertility. He type proofs are also real good, but we need to keep in mind his high pins.
There are several sons from Anderstrup Snowman Heaven being used as sire of sons. Baltikum is a nice example. He will sire big cows, just like several of his brothers, but he also give deep and strong cows. Fertility is not his strongest point, but that is no surprise with his pedigree. Baltikum is sire of sons in Germany as well in Holland.
The bull SSI Partyrock Profit from WWS is only available as sexed semen, but still a nice sire to use. He has great proofs in the US (+2642 GTPI) and Germany (158 GRZG)! Profit is one of the best bulls for feet and legs and udder and sires average sized cows with average body depth and rump with. He also has good components and health traits!
R&W sire of sons
For the Red and White programmes a a few nice new sire of sons can be used now. De Volmer Brasil RF is a great sire out of the Bonhill Warsi cowfamily. He is a bull without big gaps in his genomics profile, only fertility we have to watch. Brasil Rf has real good proofs for components and type (and his rear teat placement is a little wide!) Brasil RF also scores very good for durability and udder health.
KNS Bagno RDC (bred by Niermann family) is one of the highest red carrier bulls on RZG. With 156 gRZG and an allround profile he can be used on many females/ His only weak point is his short teath. He also has very good proofs for type and also average rear teat placement. Bagno RF semen is now available.
Gen-I-Beq Akyol-Red is maybe not the highest index (RZG +151), but he has many positive traits and that is why he will be used more as sire of sons for Germany. Akyol is a member of the Altitude/Goldwyn Aiko coefamily and he is one of the highest type bulls (141 RZE)! He also will bring longer teat, a good milking speed and he imporves all frame traits! Akyol is now available.
Polled sire of sons
Powerball P and Apoll P (bred by Schreur Holsteins) are being used heavily and are still being used, because they are extremely high and there are not many new interesting bulls for Polled programmes. The more R&W focussed breeders now use some of the Kanu sons like Kajak P and Kansas P or the Red Carrier Polled Boss son Sunday P RF. Also Delta Fun P out of the Caudumer Lol cowfamily form Haytema is still on the list. Apoll P his Supersire brother will be used heavily as sire of son for the TPI programmes as well (Casual P RF has +2424 GTPI).
The Semex bull Regancrest Milford P is probably the bull that is being used a lot now. The Style P son out of the Kevrel Shottle May EX-94 cowfamily has great proofs on TPI (+2390 GTPI) as well as RZG (+150 gRZG). He is a very good type transmitter with enough milk and high components. He will sire big cows with average frame traits like body depth and strenght. Milford P can be used best on the dairy deep females.
