K&L Poppe Great, the key to three successful VOST Select Sale generations!

In 2019, K&L Poppe Great, a well-genomic tested Soundcloud daughter, was acquired by a new owner after being sold by Poppe Holsteins & GenHotel at the VOST Select Sale 7. It's amazing to see how, over the past five years, this once-promising heifer has blossomed into a truly remarkable and outstanding performer in Ostfriesland, Germany!
Great was offered for sale with 154 gRZG and 318 gNVI. She is the direct daughter of KHE I'm Good, who was also sold to Poppe and GenHotel at the VOST Select Sale two years earlier. I'm Good has become an impressive brood cow, a dam to multiple bulls, and a top milk producer.
Without being armed with the this knowledge, German dairy farmer Helmut Janssen purchased the young Great. Her profile indicated high scores for longevity, high-fat percentage, and excellent health traits. Additionally, she is the sister of AI bulls Poppe K&L Sanchez P RDC and Poppe K&L San Remo at VOST. Now, nearly five years later, the Westcoast Soundcloud daughter has calved for the fourth time and is in her third lactation with VG-88 and EX-90 Frame.

Continuing the story, Great's Gen Pikachu daughter, Greta, was auctioned off in 2021. This young calf, offered by Helmut Janssen, tested 157 gRZG, with - also - high-fat percentage, super longevity, and top conformation, as expected from this cow family. Greta was purchased by Ritmaster Holsteins and GenHotel. In December 2023, she calved and is projected to produce 9306 kgM, 4.51% fat, and 3.55% protein. With Greta, we now have three successful VOST Select Sale generations in a row. All three animals are still in full production and have brought enormous satisfaction to their owners!
