Early K&L Sputnik RDC from the Planet Silk family, the world's largest supplier of bulls!
3STAR OH Shiny RDC VG-86, maternal-sister of three AI bulls.
Just after the breakthrough of K&L Sputnik RDC (s. Spark Red), bred by GenHotel in 2020, his semen was much-used in the 3STAR Breeding Program and other European breeding programmes. The then No. 3 genomics sire in Germany with 161 gRZG broke through in April 2020 and through his offspring, the genes of the American De-Su BW Marshal Georgia EX-90 cow family continue to flow through Europe. The recently photographed, young 3STAR OH Shiny RDC is a fantastic example of one of Sputnik RDC's promising daughters. With the arrival of his first daughter proven index in December, RUW will show a progeny group in Hamm (DE) at the beginning of next month.
3STAR OH Shiny RDC was classified a few months ago with VG-86 and VG-88 MS. Flushing her with the polled red-and-white bull Sea P RDC delivered three female offspring. Her daughter 3STAR OH Sugar P Red with 155 gRZG and 399 gNVI (+1122 LVD) is the highest tested one out of three. The fact that Sugar is red and polled made CRV show interest last summer and now owns the No. 10 gNVI R&W and the No. 3 polled R&W (go to the NVI rankings of 12-2023). The first lactation Shiny RDC is prpjected at 9.383 kgM, 4.17% fat and 3.52% protein.
On Shiny RDC's dam side we see least 9 generations of influential bull dams in a row! A good example is her Rubels-Red dam which bred the bulls 3STAR OH Sunstar P Red @Cogent, 3STAR OH Swinger Red @Genus/ABS and the now available 3STAR OH Shield RDC (by Monteverdi) @Semex (more about Shield RDC soon)! Dam K&L OH Shiner Red is housed & milked at Poppe Holsteins and produces 20% above the herd average, as a 2-yr-old milker!
This VG-86 Sputnik RDC daughter is also very closely affiliated with well-known bulls such as K&L OH Matty P RDC @RUW, K&L OH Sunboy Red @Swissgenetics, daughter proven Schreur Shimmer RDC @Genus/ABS, De Oosterhof 3STAR Redbull Red @Genus/ABS and of course also Semex sires 3STAR OH Whisper Red. The current no. 1 gRZG genomics sire GlH Redford (by Ranger-Red) also hails from the same cow family.
