At HM Holsteins, the Moonen family in The Netherlands, recently several milking 2-yr-olds are scored, including HM Sunshine 3 with VG-87 and VG-87 MS. Sunshine 3 is a Laurent P RDC daughter of KNS Sunshine RDC VG-86 (s. Boss), and purchased as a heifer by HM Holsteins at the GenHotel Selection Sale. Sunshine RDC is a maternal sister of Balisto son KNS Bagno RDC at the RUW.
Sunshine 3 is a well balanced milking heifer with great feet & legs and a well attached udder. In addition she produces very persistent and is projected (305 days) 9.097 kg milk with 4.61% fat and 3.62% protein (17% over herdaverage). Also her maternal sister HM Sunshine 2 (s. Finder) and HM Sunshine 1 P Red (s. Lazar P Red) score resp. VG-87 and VG-86 for their fancy udders and produce well with low cell count.
HM Petricia 12, a Finder x Malki out of the Tui Onyx Nick VG-86 family, is classified VG-85, due to her well balanced frame and great feet & legs. HM Delta Baly 9, a Balisto daughter from the French Naurine EX-90 (s. Gibbon) family, is also scored VG-85, though with VG-86 for her shallow, well attached mammary. Moreover Baly 9 produces about 42 kgs milk per day and is projected almost 10.000 kgs milk in her first lactation.
