2024's Topseller is HLB 3STAR OH Rosalinde P Red
Last Friday, November 29, the gates of the Ostfrieslandhalle opened to buyers from all over Germany and neighboring countries for the 12th edition of the VOST Select Sale. The evening proved to be very successful, and we reflect on the results with joy.
As the afternoon came to a close, breeders began entering the barn to view approximately 50 heifers and milkers offered in a festive, pre-Christmas atmosphere. Additionally, 20 more heifers, mainly from the Netherlands, were auctioned in abscence through video presentations. For the first time, GAS Onyx, a "Normandie," was included among the sales offerings. Its unique appearance generated significant interest and attracted many curious visitors.
This year, Nici Nosbisch, who has experience as an international auctioneer, took the auction hammer for the first time at the Ostfrieslandhalle. She successfully led an auction featuring 67 calves, maiden heifers, pregnant yearlings, and milkers. The event attracted a large number of visitors, and the VOST Select Sale was also accessible online, with one-third of the lots sold through this platform.
The auction average exceeded last year's figures by nearly €500, reaching €4,608. The standout lot of the evening was Lot 11: HLB 3STAR OH Rosalinde P Red, a polled red Can PP daughter with an impressive 158 gRZG. This lot is a descendant of the renowned "Global Red Impact Cow 2021," Lakeside Ups Red Range Red VG 86. Offered by HLB Holsteins, De Oosterhof, and GenHotel, Rosalinde P Red was sold to a German breeding organization for €20,200.
The second most expensive lot was 50A, Bouw Champion Hedy, which was sold by Bouw Holsteins for €15,000. She is among the top gNVI animals and is the highest Champion daughter based on gNVI and gRZG. Hedy will be changing hands within the Netherlands.
De Oosterhof, Ritmaster Holsteins, and GenHotel presented lot number 42. For €9,000, the number 1 Montague daughter, 3STAR RM Monique, is set to travel to her new owner in Germany. This year, the auction also featured a substantial number of milkers. On average, this group sold for €4,671. The Delta-Lambda daughter, FG Madness RDC, was auctioned as lot 15A and commanded the highest price at €5,800.
