Stouwdamshof Jacoba 15 passed away
Stouwdamshof Jacoba 15
Stouwdamshof Jacoba 15 passed away recently. She just calved for the 12th time and looked as she could live forever but a tumour in her oesophagus was fatal for the 16 year old Rudolph daughter. Jacoba 15 produced a total of 173.474 kg of milk and is one of the highest lifetime production cows in the Netherlands. This high lifetime production is the trademark of the Jacoba family. The dam to Jacoba 15, former NRM Champion Stouwdamshof Jacoba 8 EX-91, reached a total of 118.123 kg of milk. Jacoba 15 was present at last year’s NRM and placed 7th in the class with cows that produced over 100.000 kg of milk.
Red and polled
The end of Jacoba 15 does not mean the end of the Jacoba family. The herd of Stouwdamshof Holsteins hides several Jacoba’s. The most interesting descendants from this family are probably Stouwdamshof Jacoba 126 RED P and Stouwdamshof Jacoba 124 RED P, two RED and POLLED Kanu P daughters. The pedigree of these Kanu P daughters goes through Stouwdamshof Jacoba 59 Red VG-88 (Mr Burns) back at Stouwdamshof Jacoba 31 VG-89, a Stadel daughter to Jacoba 15. This Jacoba 31 is also the dam of the proven bull Stouwdamshof Akron (Manitas) who still scores +122 NVI.
