December proofs brings new stunners for VMO Holsteins

The December 2024 evaluations have once again reshuffled the rankings in the female NVI lists. For the VMO Holsteins, two new top scores emerged last weekend, securing the 'VMO' name at the top for both Red and Holsteins categories.

In the Holstein ranking, the November born VMO 3STAR Rina 5 RDC, a daughter of sire 3STAR OH Shield RDC, made her debut in December. Rina 5 RDC has an outstanding gNVI of 458 and 1292 LVD (Longevity), making her the number one of all tested Holstein heifers.

Rina 5 RDC is a daughter of Dignity 3STAR Rina 2 RDC, owned by VMO Holsteins and GenHotel. She is one of the highest-scoring Peak AltaAlanzo daughters in Europe, with a gTPI of 2926. This lineage traces back to the American Bomaz Delta 7173-ET VG-88 and includes a cow family that produced bulls such as Bomaz Brute, Bomaz Rimrock RC, Bomaz C3po, and Bomaz AltaTopshot. Bomaz Inc. was recognized as a "Herd of Excellence" in 2022.

We see an impressive score of 453 gNVI for the polled red heifer calf, VMO Lisa 9012 P Red. She is sired by the renowned bull, Wackers CR 7 P Red. In addition to her high total index, Lisa offers a fat percentage of 0.64% and a protein percentage of 0.29%, along with good health traits and a score of 110 for udder.

Lisa is descended from the well-known brood cow and granddaughter of Wilder K25 Red EX-90 (by Brekem RDC) K&L SK Konzert Red VG-89, via Louis P-red x GP-83 Percey-Red. Currently, she is one of the highest polled, tested heifer calves in the Netherlands and Flanders. She has also received high ratings in Germany, with a score of 155 gRZG, excellent components, 123 RZN, 124 gRZGes, and 122 gRZE.
